From the isolated high-altitude outpost of Anini to Kibithoo on the China border, this journey takes you through India's easternmost motorable roads. The crown jewel: a pre-dawn trek in Dong Valley to witness the very first sunrise in the country.

Day 1: Arrival in Dibrugarh: Gateway to the East
Assam
Arrive at Mohanbari Airport (DIB). The operational base for eastern expeditions. Full day dedicated to 4x4 vehicle checks, permit verification (ILP/PAP), and a high-level team briefing.

Cross the Bhupen Hazarika Setu (India's longest bridge) over the Lohit River. Enter Arunachal Pradesh and drive to Roing, the final town before the deep mountain ascent.

An arduous and extremely challenging drive. Climb steadily along the roaring Dibang River. Road conditions are remote and prone to landslides, leading to the isolated outpost of Anini.

Idu Mishmi Hub
Spend the day exploring Anini, one of India’s most remote district headquarters. Visit local villages and interact with the Idu Mishmi tribe amidst pristine, untouched landscapes.

Day 5: Anini: Rest and Contingency Day
Buffer Day
A designated rest day essential for acclimatization and accounting for the unpredictable road conditions of the Dibang Valley. Relax or take short walks through the high-altitude surroundings.

Retrace the difficult route from the high mountains back to the plains of Roing. Experience the wild Dibang Valley from a different perspective as you descend.

1.5 - 2 Hr Trek
A pre-dawn trek to a strategic viewpoint to be among the first people in India to witness the sunrise. A profound geographical experience. Return for a well-earned rest.

Day 10: Kibithoo to Parshuram Kund

Descend from the high border region along the Lohit River. Reach Parshuram Kund, a revered Hindu pilgrimage site surrounded by dense forest.

The final drive out of the Arunachal hills and back into the plains of Assam. Complete the circuit in Dibrugarh. Conclude with a farewell dinner.

Airport Drop
